
Rochester’s Annual Martin Luther King Day Celebration Set for Monday
Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- A full day of events are planned for Rochester’s annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day celebration.

Doors open at 8:15 Monday morning for the annual “We Have a Dream” Celebration, at the Mayo Civic Center in downtown Rochester.
The day full of events starts with a breakfast before a program, hosted by the Rochester branch of the NAACP in partnership with the Rochester Area Chamber of Commerce, beginning at 9 a.m.

At 10:30 a.m. a freedom rally and march will take place ahead of the Community People's Program, which is scheduled to start at 11:30 a.m. at the Rochester Civic Theater.
During the day’s second program, Rochester NAACP President Dr. Walé Elegbede will share a state of the branch report.
The keynote speaker for the Community People's Program is Thomas Thibodeau, who is a Distinguished Professor of Servant Leadership at Viterbo University in La Crosse.
The program will also feature a panel discussion and a community Q&A before wrapping up at 2:30 with the Commemorative MLK Birthday Party Celebration.
