Lake City, MN (KROC-AM News)- A single-vehicle crash along the Mississippi River in southeast Minnesota sent a teen driver to the hospital Tuesday evening.

The State Patrol responded to the crash in Wabasha County. It happened shortly before 7:30 p.m. 

The state crash report says a car, driven by 18-year-old Elle Ann Engel of Fountain City, WI, was traveling south on Hwy. 61 when it hit the guardrail. The single vehicle-crash happened along a two-lane stretch of the highway between Wabasha and Lake City.

Engle suffered what are being described as non-life-threatening injuries. She was taken to a hospital in Lake City for further care.

The report says she was buckled up and alcohol was not involved in the crash. No ice or snow was detected on the road. 

The Wabasha County Sheriff’s Office, Lake City Police Department, Lake City Fire Department and Lake City Ambulance also responded to the crash.
