Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - The City of Rochester has hired a new Finance Director to fill a role left vacant with the retirement of longtime director Dale Martinson.

Brian J. Anderson was selected after the city conducted a nationwide search for Martinson's successor but it turns out the city did not have to look too far to find him. Anderson is coming to Rochester from Goodhue County where he has served as the Auditor/Treasurer- Finance Director for five years.

Before taking the job with Goodhue County, Anderson worked as the City Administrator for the City of Faribault, City Administrator for Newport Minnesota, and Assistant City Administrator for Lakeville.

Martinson retired after a nearly 30-year career with the city. Anderson is scheduled to report for work in Rochester early next month.
