Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News)- A bridge in downtown Rochester is scheduled to close on Monday.

The closure is to accommodate work related to the Link Bus Rapid Transit project, a post on the City of Rochester’s Facebook page says. 

A detour route will be in place during the closure.

3rd Ave. SE Bridge in Downtown Rochester to Close Monday, Detour in Place

Starting at 9 a.m. Monday the 3rd Ave. SE bridge, which lies between 4th St. SE and 2nd St. SE will close in both directions. 

Crews will be conducting design analysis and measurements for work related to the Link Bus Rapid Transit System. 

Work on the infrastructure project began in June. The bus line is expected to become operational by the end of the year, according to the project timeline. 

Traffic will be detoured to South Broadway Ave. via 2nd St. SE and 4th St. SE. Officials say the closure is set to end by 5 p.m. Monday.
