Get Some “Culture” Date for Valentine’s Day & It’s FREE
If you are looking for something to do over the weekend - not necessarily ON Valentine's Day, or maybe it is on Valentine's Day, and you don't have a ton of money, this might be just the thing for that situation. Especially if you are an artsy type of person, or your would-be date is.
The Walker Art Center in Minneapolis is a great place to go and explore some Modern Art. Modern Art meaning a, roughly, 100-year period of artistic production from the 1860s to the 1970s, characterized by a, self-conscious, rejection of traditional, realistic, academic, styles. Driven by industrialization and social change, it emphasizes experimentation, abstraction, personal expression, and the, questioning, of, art’s, purpose.
But also- there are some exhibits that are really modern. Like something done in this decade, or even within the last year.
DYANI WHITE HAWK: LOVE LANGUAGE EXHIBIT HAS BEEN EXTENDED
The exhibit was extended due to the unrest that was going on in Minneapolis. The Walker Art Center wanted to make sure that everyone who wanted to see the exhibit would have an opportunity to do so. And this weekend, which is the closing weekend, the admission to the exhibit is FREE! No admission charge today, Saturday or Sunday.
