Minnesota Border City in Top 5 Happiest Cities in the United States

This statistic is a little surprising.  Every year, the website Wallet hub puts out statistics about this that and the other thing, and this time they have put together a list of the happiest cities in the United States.

WHAT MAKES A CITY THE HAPPIEST CITY

There are a few factors that contribute to what makes a city the happiest.  According to this study, this is some of the criteria that was taken into account to decide the happiest cities.

Location can influence how bright or gloomy our daily lives feel. For decades, researchers have explored the science of happiness and identified several core factors, including mental well-being, physical health, strong social ties, job satisfaction, and financial stability

But these things don't make a city "happy" for sure.  It's mostly just quality of life.

WHAT ARE THE TOP FIVE HAPPIEST CITIES

According to this study, the number 5 happiest city is... Fargo, North Dakota.  Now, I have lived in Fargo, and I'm not sure I would agree with this.  Unless, of course, you love the wind pretty much at all times.  You like winter.  Now, it's not that much colder than any other midwest city in the winter.  But, the wind is definitely a factor, and the fact that they just plow the roads, they don't salt the roads.  Now, I know that some people don't mind that, for me, in a regular car, this is an issue.  I was stuck on everything.  They do salt the intersections, so that does help.  But if you get a snowy winter, driving can really be a challenge.  Other than that, they have everything there you need mostly because it is in the middle of nowheresville.

WHAT ARE THE OTHER FOUR IN THE TOP FIVE

Number 4 is South Burlington, VT, number 3 is Scottsdale, AZ.  I have lived there too, and I can absolutely understand why this town is happy.  I know it's in the desert, BUT it's almost like an oasis in the middle of the desert.  Number 2 is back to North Dakota.  Busmarck comes in at number 2 and the number 1 happiest city in the U.S. is in California.  Surprise.  It's Tremont, Califronia.  Where is that?  I had to look too.  It's in the San Francisco Bay area.  So, basically Northern California.  I get that, but so many people complain about the cost of living in that area, and also the climate.  Kind of misty.  But ok.

IS THERE A CITY IN MINNESOTA ON THE LIST

Yes, Minnesota does have a city on the list of happiest cities. But you have to go to number 34 where Minneapolis comes in.  This ranking is obviously subjective.  There are plenty of people that I know that will avoid Minneapolis, or will only go to certain areas because they are concerned about safety. You do you - I really havne't been concerned, but I do understand why some people are.
