There has been an issue with Target since January of last year.  The issue was the decision to scrap some of the diversity products and policies that were put in place prior to January of 2025.  This didn't sit well with everyone.  So, there was a nationwide boycott that is running to this day... or is it?

It depends on who you ask.  According to a pastor in Georgia, it's over.  He made a statement in a video that a lot of activists are taking issue with, saying that is absolutely not true.  Not sure why one would make a statement without any backup.

ONE OF THE STATEMENTS MADE IN THE VIDEO LINKED ABOVE

...claimed the boycott was ending, and thanked Target CEO Michael Fiddelke and the company’s senior leadership for allegedly agreeing to fulfill a $2 billion promise to support diverse causes, including the support of Black-owned businesses and brands, and historically Black colleges and universities.

WHAT DO SOME PEOPLE IN MINNESOTA SAY ABOUT THE BOYCOTT

Now, if you ask some of the activists here in Minnesota, they will tell you that is absolutely not true.  The boycott is still on.  Target has not reversed any of it's policies that were pulled in January of last year.

From Bring Me the News:

“The nationwide Target Boycott is not over, unless and until Target reverses its decision to rollback Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, as we said from the beginning,” Nekima Levy Armstrong, who is facing federal charges in connection to an anti-ICE protest at a St. Paul church this January, maintains. “Please don’t believe the hype and these attempts to rescue Target from the effects of capitulating to the Trump Administration,” she goes on to write. “The nationwide boycott of Target is successful and it will continue. Please continue to shop elsewhere.”

This was in response to a Target spokesperson who said that Target does, and will continue to be there for all. “Target is more committed than ever to creating growth and opportunity for all,” said a Target spokesperson. “We’re pleased to be moving forward, and we will continue showing up as trusted neighbors while delivering results for our team members, guests, and the more than 2,000 communities in which we serve. Because when those communities thrive, so do we.”

IF NOT AT TARGET, WHERE DO YOU SHOP FOR THOSE SAME ITEMS

Do you shop at Target?  If you don't, where do you go to get the stuff you would normally get from a Target store?  In St. Cloud, the store that probably most matches the products that Target also has is Wal Mart.  And I for one, refuse to shop there unless it is absolutely necessary.  But that's just me.  You do you.
