Speakeasies in Minnesota – How Many of These Have You Been to?
For the last few years, Speakeasies in Minnesota have really gained some popularity. It's fun to feel like you are going back to somewhere in the 1920's and to a time when there was bootlegging, secret places with passwords and secret doors and just a time when people maybe appreciated the finer things in a place that isn't totally out in the open.

WHERE IS THE SPEAKEASY IN ST. CLOUD
There is a speakeasy here in St. Cloud called the Blue Goose. It is below the Pioneer Place on 5th Avenue. If you haven't been there yet, you need to check it out. It's really a cool place. But with most Speakeasies, it's small, and you may have to wait until there is space for you and your companions to experience the underground establishment. And as with most Speakeasies, there is a trick to getting in the door.
YOU MIGHT WANT TO VENTURE OUT OF TOWN FOR MORE SPEAKEASIES
If you head towards the twin cities, there are more of them. One of which is Volstead's Emporium Uptown. It's described as cozy, dimly lit (as with most speakeasies) with high end cocktails to enjoy along with a rotating menu of American fare.
Head through the twin cities (there are more there) and get to Stillwater. There is a very cool Speakeasy which can be tough to get into. Not just because you have to find the door, but because it's super busy. You might have to call ahead. It's called the Velveteen. This is a place where you almost want to wear some traditional 1920's outfits. It's just cool.
If you are going in the other direction in the Duluth area, you have to make a stop at the Rathskeller. This one is almost a little creepy. But in a good way. You have to wait until the red light turns on outside the door before you can enter. Then, head down the stairs and feel like you are in the catacombs. The artwork on the walls also mimics that feel. The cocktails are amazing. And you can choose from a variety of hot and cold drinks.
THERE ARE SEVERAL SPEAKEASIES THROUGHOUT MINNESOTA - CHECK THEM ALL OUT
If you really want to take a tour of the Speakeasies in Minnesota, there are several. You could do this over a few weekends if you wanted. You can't really do a tour of them over a weekend being that most of them are only open in the evening hours. So, a few trips to check out some Speakeasies would be the best way. Here is a guide for some of the best ones in Minnesota.
