After a Long Wait “A Bar of Their Own” Now Open in Minnesota

We have been hearing about this bar that was set to open that is a sports bar, focusing on female sports.  "A Bar of Their Own" is a play on the movie "A League of Thier Own" which was about an all female baseball team.  With the famous line from Tom Hanks of "There's No Crying in Baseball!"

This bar finally opened this past Friday.  It had a huge opening, was very successful, and hopefully that trend will continue.  They also want everyone to know that just because it is a place with a focus on women's sports, does not mean that they aren't welcoming everyone.  Everybody is welcome at "A Bar of Thier Own".

Their first days open have been a huge success.  They posted on their facebook page with some stats on their first few days open.

The first day was a huge success, but there were long waiting times.  That does seem to be the trend in Minnesota whenever something new opens.  People will stand in line for a chance to be one of the first ones to try out a new restaurant, bar, venue, whatever the case is.  I kind of think that it's best to wait a couple of weeks, but that's me.

A Bar of Their Own posted this on their Facebook page after the first day open:

Grand Opening Weekend was a *huge* success and we are so grateful for everyone who came out to celebrate with us! I don’t have the words to fully process what I’m feeling quite yet, but just know all of your smiling faces (even with 2 hour wait times!) made every second of this journey worth it.

So, if you are in the twin cities area, and looking for a great place that celebrates women's sports, check this place out.  The bar is located at 2207 Franklin Ave E in Minneapolis.  They are open Wednesdays through Sundays from 11am to 11pm.
