One local junior hockey team is at home for a weekend series and another begins a long stretch of road games this weekend. Here's your junior hockey schedule for the weekend for the Granite City Lumberjacks and the St. Cloud Norsemen.

Lumberjacks Look To Keep Winning With Home Series

The Granite City Lumberjacks are home this weekend taking on the Mason City Toros. Both games are scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. at Miller Buick GMC Arena on the Benton County Fairgrounds. The Lumberjacks go into this weekends games with an undefeated 3-0-0-0 record.

Their opponent, the Toro's, have shown improvement from last season and from a points standpoint are in first place of the West Division, with a record of 4-1-1-0 and have racked up 9 points already this year.

This might be the biggest test of the season so far for the Lumberjacks.

St. Cloud Norsemen Are Road Warriors The Next Few Weeks

Coming off the NAHL Showcase down in the Twin Cities, which saw the Norsemen go 1-1-1, the guys are on the road against a tough opponent this weekend. The Norsemen took the long ride west on Highway 12 to Aberdeen, to take on the Wings in a two game series.

On the season the Norsemen are 3-1-1-0 with 7 points and are in third place in the Central Division. The Aberdeen Wings are in first place in the Central with a record of 4-1-0-0 with 8 points.

The Norsemen are going to have to be successful on the road as they are not scheduled for a home game until October 18th, which is the second game of a home and home series with the Minnesota Mallards.

Next weekend the Norsemen will travel to Bismarck to take on the Bobcats.
