Despite the lack of snow winter in the Twin Ports area this season, one of my favorite local events based around winter is still happening.

I'm talking about the annual Two Harbors Winter Frolic, of course in Two Harbors, Minnesota.  Lovin' Lake County invites everyone to make the trip up or trip down the shore depending on where you call home for a couple of great days packed with events for the whole family.

After hanging at the Frolic for many years now, one thing I can tell you is it doesn't matter if it's -30 outside, or a blizzard, or even temps hovering in the mid 30s with hardly any snow, the community always makes it fun.

Happening Friday, February 9th and Saturday the 10th, you'll find live music, curling, winter kick ball, the famous smoosh races, outhouse races(yes, that's a thing), a scavenger hunt, bean bag tournament, kid's races, a vendor fair, and so much more.

New for 2024, the Two Harbors Winter Frolic will feature axe throwing too, so come ready to challenge your buddies in a game of that.

I can't stress enough that this two days of fun really is for the whole family, so please bring the kiddos and join an event that really shows you what a small-town community is like.  Friendly, welcoming, and a guaranteed good time.

In addition to everything else I mentioned, there will be carriage rides on Saturday, a chili cook-off, and keg relay race too.
