Fans of all things spooky, get excited! Twin Cities Fear Fest is set to return to the Mall of America in Bloomington this fall.

Last year, the Twin Cities Halloween attraction made its debut, with a couple of different themed areas that included detailed sets, scare actors, and special effects to create an "intense, atmospheric" spooky experience.

After last year's success, Twin Cities Fear Fest will make a return to the Mall of America this fall, with some new twists in store for visitors.

What are the main attractions at the 2026 Twin Cities Fear Fest?

At the center of the 2026 Twin Cities Fear Fest are a pair of attractions.

One of them is the "Dead City Uprising" haunted attraction. This centerpiece revolves around zombie-like creatures roaming an apocalyptic city.

The storyline explains, "The infected have begun to change, their bodies twisting into grotesque new forms as a mysterious force guides them through the ruins. Survivor strongholds are falling, radio signals have gone silent, and every passing day brings the dead one step closer to total control."

The other welcomes a classic Halloween character, Jason Voorhees. The "Jason Universe: Survive the Night" attraction puts you into the world of the most feared slasher of horror movie fame. In this attraction, he's coming after you.

The Twin Cities Fear Fest team says, "You’ll feel his terrifying presence around each turn. Keep moving, and somehow, Jason’s already ahead of you. When his mask emerges from the darkness, he’s close enough to count every crack and scratch."

Can you survive the night?

Both of these sound awesome!

Add-on experiences at Twin Cities Fear Fest 2026

There are a couple of add-ons that go along with the main attractions I mentioned above.

Tied in with the Dead City Rising attraction is the return of last year's "Deadshot Alley". This is where you defend yourself from the undead with airsoft-like GellyBall guns as your weapon as you defend yourself against live-actor zombies in a range-style booth.

Tied in with the Jason Universe attraction is what they're calling "Jason Universe Director's Cut". In this add-on experience, a camp counselor leads your group to a rustic cabin where you might start to feel like you have the upper hand over Jason. From there, you see a screen light up that gives you control over how Jason will attack next. This gives your group a moment in "the director's chair" for the Jason experience.

Another side-quest experience at this year's Twin Cities Fear Fest is "The Sanctum Secret Bar", which is hidden within the terror of this year's attractions. This secret hiding spot will offer you a reprieve from the scares while enjoying a drink "if you're daring enough to seek it out".

Making a return this year is spooky icon Elvira, Mistress of the Dark, who had a pop-up shop last year with merchandise and cocktails. While not mentioned on the Fear Fest website yet, signage is up at the Mall of America teasing the return of Elvira for 2026.

The 2026 Fear Fest will be on the second floor of the Mall of America in the southeast corner of the mall, right next to the conveniently located Spirit Halloween that will be operating in the mall during the Halloween season.

This year's Fear Fest festivities will be open "select nights" starting on September 15, running through November 1. There is a ticket presale available now through their website. You just have to sign up to get access to this presale before tickets go on sale to the general public closer to the event.
