I'll admit it. I'm a weather nerd. When storms are on the horizon, there's no question I am monitoring things on one of the dozen weather apps on my phone.

Some people might roll their eyes, but I know there are many other people just like me.

Whether it's a fascination with the science of it all, the raw power nature has, the jaw-dropping visuals storms can bring, or just wanting to know what's next in the forecast, there are lots of reasons people geek out on weather.

This fall, there will be a bar and grill opening in Minnesota, tailor-made for weather nerds. The person behind the new business also happens to be someone with a lot of weather knowledge.

Former Twin Cities meteorologist Dave Dahl, who worked for KSTP TV for many years, is cooking up a storm of his own making. It's a bar and grill he's calling "Dave Dahl's Tornado Room", which will have a weather theme.

Dave Dahl's Tornado Room Bar & Grill will be opening this fall in the former Tilted Tiki Tropical Bar & Restaurant on Main Street in Stillwater, Minnesota.

The Pioneer Press explains [PAYWALL] that some examples of the stormy theme include a TV with weather reports on at all times, plus a working tornado siren installed that will go off from time to time, with half-off drinks for a time after the "tornado warning".

The menu will also feature weather-themed food and beverage items, including the "F5" roast beef sandwich and the "Hail Mary" Bloody Mary. In case you're curious, the ice cubes will be round, like hail.

The space will reportedly have sports bar vibes and feature live music. While no specific opening date has been announced yet, the plans are to open in September of this year.

I have to say I am excited to check this place out! I'm really curious how many weather-related touches Dave and his business partners are going to weave into the decor, menu, and overall ambiance. The good news is it sounds like we won't have to wait too long!

Since we're nerding out on weather things, here's a look at some of the most powerful derechos that have swept through Minnesota over the years:
