Anthony Edwards Spots a Birthday Sign and Delivers Big
Minnesota sports fans should enjoy this moment in history. Across the state’s major teams, several certified superstars are in their prime, delivering highlight after highlight and creating a steady stream of moments worth remembering. That also means no shortage of memorabilia worth chasing, even if long-time fans know Minnesota seasons often end with heartbreak.
A Star Shining Brighter in Minnesota Sports
One star, however, seems to shine a little brighter than the rest right now. Minnesota Timberwolves standout Anthony Edwards, better known as ANT, has become more than just a local favorite. He is now one of the most recognizable faces in the NBA, drawing national attention for both his on-court dominance and his personality.

There is no question about his talent. Edwards brings explosive scoring, confidence, and swagger to every game. But what continues to separate him from many other stars is how he connects with fans, especially young ones. Time and again, Edwards has been spotted on broadcasts giving away game-worn items to kids sitting courtside.
A Birthday Moment at Target Center
That connection was on full display during the Timberwolves’ recent 123 to 111 win over the Oklahoma City Thunder at Target Center. Edwards led the team with 26 points, helping secure the victory in front of a fired-up home crowd.

Late in the game, with Edwards already done for the night, cameras caught him noticing a handmade sign held by a young fan. The sign read, “ANT It’s My 8th Birthday Dunk for me.” Edwards did one better.
A Memory That Lasts Forever
Instead of just acknowledging the sign, Edwards called the young fan down, removed the jersey from his own back, and handed it to him before shaking his hand. It was a simple gesture, but one that turned a regular game night into a lifelong memory.
For Minnesota fans, moments like this help explain why Anthony Edwards has become such a beloved figure so quickly. Wins and losses fade, but moments of genuine connection live on, especially for the next generation growing up inside Target Center.
