Wisconsin is known for many things but when it comes to driving to or through the state, there's nothing really that stands out, right?

That's probably why the Cheesehead State did not fare too well in a new driving-related study put out by WalletHub. The study was released early on Tuesday (January 20th) and it was definitely eye-opening.

Minnesota did really well in this study, being named the tenth best state to drive in this year. As a Minnesotan, I definitely have to disagree. Driving in the winter and through summertime construction is not ideal.

That was just the start though, as WalletHub named the best and worst states to drive in this year. Let's dive in!

WalletHub Names The Best & Worst States To Drive In For 2026

They also looked at how much auto maintenance costs on average and gas prices. Most importantly, perhaps, is how many car washes there are per capita. As someone who drives a white car, I can't tell you how many times I go through the car wash.

It looks Wisconsin might have some work to do. I will say that winter driving in Wisconsin is also awful, so that part I definitely understand. Better luck next year?

Vermont is the best state to drive in this year, while Hawaii is the worst. If I lived in Hawaii, I definitely wouldn't complain though!
