There are a lot of road construction projects going on in the Northland. Summer, better known as road construction season, is going by fast, and there are still some new road projects starting. Today, a section of West Skyline Parkway will close for approximately two weeks.

The City of Duluth made the announcement on Tuesday night that West Skyline Parkway will be closed starting today. There is damaged drainage piping across the road that they need to replace.

Detours will be posted around the area. The westbound traffic detour is Mesaba Avenue to 4th Street, to West Skyline Parkway.

Eastbound traffic will be detoured from W Skyline Parkway to Tenth Avenue West, to West 3rd Street, to Mesaba Avenue, to Skyline Parkway.

The closure on the website says work will be completed on August 26th. The contractor, JMF Construction, will install the drainage across the roadway. JMF Construction is a masonry, concrete, and excavation company located in Rice Lake at 3613 Martin Road.
