Old Farmer’s Almanac Drops Its First Fall Outlook For Wisconsin

I know many people will not be happy that I am already talking about fall but I can't help it. I love all things fall and even got my beloved pumpkin spice creamer at the store the other day. I am all in.

It was a very long, cold winter and we are currently experiencing a very hot (and smoky!) summer. It has been so hot over the past few weeks that I am definitely ready for cooler temperatures and crisper air.

However, that does not mean I am ready for winter! I just don't want to walk outside and feel like the oven is open. Ha! Fall really could bring anything to the Northland.

Thankfully, it looks like we will have a perfect fall across Wisconsin - if you believe in the Old Farmer's Almanac, that is.

Old Farmer's Almanac Releases First Fall Outlook For 2026

The Old Farmer's Almanac just released the first fall outlook of the season for our region. I was worried it would say something scary, as is sometimes the case for our neck of the woods near the end of the year but I was pleasantly surprised.

In terms of temperature, things will be very fall-like after next month. September will bring cooler-than-average temperatures, while things heat up again in October. It won't be hot come spooky season, but temperatures will be slightly above average in the Cheesehead State.

The southwestern part of Wisconsin will be a little bit warmer than the rest of the state and all of Minnesota as a whole. That part of the state will really be holding on to summer!

So what about rain - or snow? I don't even like saying that out loud at this point but have no fear. We aren't expecting much precipitation at all, and can expect dry conditions for both September and October.

I am pretty sure it snowed on Halloween last year so I am fine with this. I will soak in all the sunshine in August and be more than ready for cooler air come September. Only time will tell if this outlook comes true.
