
Minnesota State Climatology Office Shares Shocking Tornado Fact
It's been an interesting summer so far! Things have really heated up but those hot temperatures haven't stuck around.
For example, on Grandma's Marathon race weekend, it was so humid that most of the state was under some type of heat advisory. It made for a very tough race.

Over this past weekend, we saw some pretty intense thunderstorms in the Duluth area. Some parts of Minnesota have even seen tornadoes this summer.
Now, the Minnesota State Climatology Office has shared just how many tornadoes we've seen this season so far through the end of June.

This might surprise you! On Monday (June 30th), at the end of the month and with summer really ramping up, the Minnesota State Climatology Office shared just how many tornadoes the state has seen so far.

So what's the number? According to their post, we've seen forty-eight tornadoes in Minnesota so far this year. This is shocking compared to years past.
How Many Tornadoes Does Minnesota See Each Summer?
This year seems to be an active tornado season so far, as last year we saw only about forty-one tornadoes throughout the entire season. We've already surpassed that number just in June alone.

To put this more into perspective, there were forty-four tornadoes in 2023 in the state. We will have to wait and see how July shapes up and where this summer will land at the end of the day.
