The Minnesota Office of Cannabis Management (OCM), says that cancer patients enrolled in Minnesota's medical cannabis program found significant relief. It's one of the largest studies of cancer patients and medical cannabis treatment.

Minnesota Office Of Cannabis Management Medical Marijuana Study

They studied 6,621 patients enrolled in Minnesota's medical cannabis program between 2015 and 2023. Nearly half of all the patients with moderate to severe vomiting saw an improvement within four months.

38.2% of patients suffering from a lack of appetite also saw improvements.

I've Witnessed The Benefits In Family & Friends Fighting Cancer

I've personally witnessed the benefits of cannabis with friends and family members suffering from cancer. My father, who has always been oppossed to marijuana use, was finally convinced to use cannabis to ease his symptoms from his cancer treatments.

My Father Was Anti-Cannabis Until It Helped Him During Cancer Fight

He was so nauseous from the chemotherapy treatments that at one point he considered stopping the treatment. He would spend most of the day so sick he couldn't leave the bathroom. It was horrible to witness. He was prescribed a low-dose cannabis vape that helped almost immediately. He was able to function again throughout the day. Medical cannabis allowed him to continue his treatment and eventually reach remission.

Another close friend of mine was diagnosed with breast cancer at the young age of 40. It was a rare inflammatory breast cancer that required surgeries, heavy chemotherapy, and radiation. She credits cannabis for helping her get through the treatments with only mild nausea.

Reduction In Anxiety & Depression Symptoms

Besides the physical benefits shown in the study, it also helped reduce anxiety and depression in patients. About 30% of cancer patients with moderate to severe pain also experienced improvements in symptoms as well.
