Fall Is Coming: First Frost Forecast Is Out for Minnesota
OPE! I know that nobody wants to hear this but the first taste of fall is definitely upon us. Summer is coming to an end and that means winter is right around the corner. (Fall and winter basically morph into one around here.)
A good sign that summer is almost over and fall is right around the corner? When frost starts to pop up into the forecast. It just happened.

This will be just the beginning of a 'dramatic' fall in the Northland, at least if you believe in the Farmers' Almanac. According to their predictions for the season ahead, it will be very cold and very wet.
I love fall but with a forecast like that, I am fine with it holding off a little bit longer. It looks like I won't get my wish though - because the first frost forecast for the region is out.

According to this forecast, we can expect the first frost of the season between September 15th and the 30th. That means the second half of September is when things will really start to feel like fall.
According to the National Weather Service, the average first frost date for our neck of the woods is around September 20th. That puts this frost forecast right on target! As we know though, sometimes it happens well before that in northern Minnesota.
