
Ellen Degeneres Sends Message To Minneapolis ‘Happiest City In America’
Ellen DeGeneres weighed in on the turmoil happening in Minneapolis in a recent video message on her social media pages. She addresses the ongoing protests and ICE activity in Minnesota, and says she's so sorry for what's happening in Minneapolis.
She goes on to explain that she shot her last stand-up special in Minneapolis, because "they say it's the happiest city in America," and she found that to be true when she visited.

She goes on to say that her thoughts and prayers are with you, Minneapolis. She also offers her support for those who are protesting peacefully.
Ellen DeGeneres filmed her final stand-up special, For Your Approva,l in Minneapolis at the Orpheum Theatre in August 2024. It was her final special after a long career in standup, comedy, and TV.
Currently, the Pentagon has ordered 1500 active-duty soldiers to be on standby, ready to deploy to Minnesota in the nationwide immigration enforcement crackdown.
President Trump has weighed the option of invoking the Insurrection Act on Minneapolis. The act was created in 1807 and allows the government to deploy the military to enforce federal law. FOX News reports it hasn't been used since the 1992 LA Riots over the beating of Rodney King.

Some businesses have closed in the Twin Cities, like the DoubleTree Hotel in St. Paul. Protests
Protests are expected to cool as the temperature in Minnesota is forecasted to be sub zero this week, with windchills well below zero. This cold snap will continue into next week.
