The Duluth Police Department received a call about a shooting that took place in Downtown Duluth. Officials say the incident happened on Sunday night, February 15th, 2026. They did not indicate what time the shooting happened.

They did provide some information. The shooting started as a fight when one of the individuals pulled a firearm and fired it at the victim, but apparently missed. They then drove off. When the police arrived, they found a single shell casing and a man without any injuries who was uncooperative.

The Duluth Police Department says the incident is still under investigation, and they are attempting to locate the vehicle.

Residents posted online about the police presence near the Duluth Transit Center around 6:15. They had a radius set up around the crime scene.

While only one shell casing was reported to have been found, witnesses claim there were more shots fired.

This latest incident shows the struggle we are having with crime and homelessness in Downtown Duluth. The city council meets today to discuss the vacancy rate at the Downtown Duluth Skywalk system, where 59% of the space is unused.

This shooting comes just days after a fatal shooting in Duluth on February 10th. Police were in pursuit of a suspect when Donald Felver III, 30, of Duluth, shot at deputies. The deputies returned fire, killing Felver, according to FOX 21.

Police believe that Felver was the gunman who shot and killed Darius Handy hours earlier at the intersection of 4th Street and Piedmont Avenue. Handy was shot while at a stop sign in his SUV around 3:40 PM.
