Property Type: Properties must be classified by their data partners as a hotel or resort to qualify for the rankings. They do not currently rank apartments, hostels, or other niche property types in the Best Hotels rankings.
Minimum Review Count: A hotel must have at least 20 reviews from previous guests across various sources at the time of data collection.

Next, an overall score is computed based on the number of awards and recognitions a property has received, the hotel's class, and guest ratings, which are worth up to 12.5 points, based on the number of underlying guest reviews and overall sentiment.
