
3 Pedestrians Among 7 Killed on Minnesota Roads Since Friday
Jordan, MN (KROC-AM News) - The past five days have been especially deadly Minnesota roadways.
There have now been at least seven traffic fatalities reported in the state since last Friday. The two most recent tragedies both occurred in Scott County.
At Least 7 People Have Perished on Minnesota Roadways Over the Last five Days
The State Patrol is reporting that a woman was killed in the collision with a semi-truck on Highway 169 in Jordan. The deadly crash was reported just before 1 PM.
The preliminary crash report indicates the 78-year-old Jordan woman was entering an intersection along the busy highway when her SUV and the southbound truck collided. Her name has not been released.
Three traffic fatalities were reported on Monday. The Shakopee Police Department says a pedestrian was struck and killed by a vehicle while he was walking next to Highway 101. A news release on the incident says the preliminary investigation found that 33-year-old Roman Lozovskiy was walking in the ditch when the vehicle veered off the roadway and struck him.
The initial report on the fatality issued by the Shakopee Police Department also indicated that one person was critically injured. No other information has been released.

Meanwhile, the Isanti County Sheriff's Office has released the names of the two men who perished in the collision just south of Isanti Monday morning. 95-year-old Calvin Jacobsen of Bradford Township and 29-year-old Nicholas Murray of Isanti were driving two vehicles that collided at a rural intersection in Aspen Township around 10 AM.

The State Patrol responded to a pair of fatal traffic incidents on Saturday. A 68-year-old South St. Paul man was killed in a single-vehicle crash in St. Paul Park Saturday morning and a 66-year-old Bloomington woman died after she was struck by a vehicle on I-494 near the Twin Cities Airport Saturday night.
Another pedestrian was killed in northeastern Minnesota Friday night. The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office says the victim was a woman who was struck by a vehicle on a rural road near Floodwood, about 40 miles northwest of Duluth.
