Ahead of the release of his new album, The Devil Don't Sleep, Brantley Gilbert has shared its first single, “The Weekend,” as well as a few other cuts: "Rockin' Chairs," "Tried to Tell Ya" and, most recently, "Outlaw in Me."

"Outlaw in Me" is a ballad in which Gilbert confesses, "My baby don't try to change me / She knows this is the way God made me ... She's in love with the outlaw in me." It's a sweet -- and likely quite autobiographical -- sentiment from the country star, who wed his wife Amber in June of 2015, after traveling a path in life that tore them apart, then drew them back together.

Readers can press play on the video above to hear "Outlaw in Me;" it's Track No. 12 on Gilbert's forthcoming project. The singer performed the tune, as well as those other tracks mentioned above, during an album release party at the iHeartRadio Theater in Los Angeles, Calif.

Country's Greatest Love Stories

There are 16 tracks on The Devil Don’t Sleep, and Gilbert’s stayed pretty quiet about most of them; however, he’s given a few clues about the project as a whole.

“I don’t know if I’ve ever done one as back and forth as this one is,” Gilbert says of the album. “It covers a lot of ground as far as just making the genre versatile. It just does a little bit of everything, yings and yangs a lot in the weirdest way. It’s awesome. I’m stoked about it.”

The Devil Don’t Sleep is set for release on Jan. 27 and available for pre-order on iTunes now. Fans can get a sneak peek at the album’s tracks via Gilbert’s Instagram account.
