Hat Chic's founder and owner of the downtown business location, Tanya Henson took to social media today to announce that she would be closing her decade-old business to focus more time on family.

The video, which you can watch in its entirety below starts off by saying, "After 10 great years, we have decided that we are closing Hat Chic. This has not been an easy decision, this has not been a quick decision, you know we're having one of our best on record. But umm, we need to get some priorities straight, and umm that requires me stepping away from the business, and putting family first."

With one son in college and another son on their way to college, Tanya confesses in the video that she wants to spend more time watching her sons play, being there, and being attentive.

While admitting in the video that "there is never a good time to do it, there is never a fun time to do it, but we have reached the decision, we took a lot of time to get here, but it is the right decision."

So what does that mean for people who have done business with Hat Chic? Sadly they are not taking any more new orders, but if you've already placed an order, Tanya and her staff are working to fulfill those orders. Items will be going on sale beginning on June 6th, with the store planning on being open until July 1st.

Henson ends her video by simply stating, "Once again thank you for supporting us, and for allowing us to do what we love, but this is where we are going to take our bow."
