The Prep Bowl began Friday at TCF Bank Stadium in Minneapolis and the theme for most of the day was dominance.

In nine-man football, Grand Meadow captured their third straight title with a 34-20 win over the Underwood Rockets. The Super Larks were making their fourth consecutive appearance in the tournament.

The Class AA champion Caledonia Warriors rolled to a 40-0 win over Pipestone Area, giving Caledonia their seventh overall title, sixth championship in the past nine years and fourth in the past six years.

The Becker Bulldogs repeated for the Class AAAA championship, defeating South St. Paul 35-14. It was Becker's third overall title.

The best game of the day was a 14-13 win by the Osseo Orioles over the Raptors of East Ridge of Woodbury in the Class AAAAAA title contest.

Osseo scored their winning touchdown with 24 seconds to go in the game and the extra point kicked proved to be the difference.

For a low-scoring game, listen to these offensive totals. Osseo had 320 total yards and East Ridge 264. The Orioles ran for 177 and threw for 143 and East Ridge had 197 yards on the ground and 67 through the air for a total of 584 offensive yards in the game.

Saturday Prep Bowl games include the Class A championship between Minneota and Minneapolis North.

The Vikings are looking to repeat and win their fifth state championship. Minneapolis North has never won a state football title.

Kickoff is at 10AM.

The Class AAA title game is at 1PM with Jackson County Central playing Pierz. The JCC Huskies are going for their third title and first since 2001.

The Pierz Pioneers are hoping to achieve their second championship.

Kickoff is at 1PM.

The last high school football game in Minnesota will be the Class AAAA battle of the saints title game.

St. Thomas Academy plays Saint Michael-Albertville.

The game is scheduled to begin at 4PM.

The Cadets are trying to win their second state title and the Knights have never won a state football championship.
