The grain and livestock markets are closed today in observance of Good Friday and the Easter weekend. It is a little unusual as all the markets are closed today. Many holiday weekends the New York financial, energy, interest rates and other markets have a shortened session. Gordy said yesterday on KDHL that all of those markets are closed today. The grain markets will open at the normal time for the overnight session Sunday evening.

Maybe it is a good thing the grain markets are closed today because it was a tough week for corn and especially beans. Sometimes a 3 day weekend results in a change of direction for the grain markets. There is no question that all the traders have been talking about how bearish the grain markets are. With the funds very short beans and record short corn maybe a 3 day weekend could bring about a short covering rally? That is probably not very likely, but there is a small chance?
