Minnesota Governor Mark Dayton Has Cancer Treatment Plan

Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton announced on Tuesday morning that he has set up his prostate cancer treatment plan.

He said that according to tests done last week, the cancer has not spread. Therefore he will have his prostate removed at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester. The surgery is tentatively scheduled for March 2. Here is what else Dayton had to say on his Facebook page.

"I am told that I will likely need to spend one night in the hospital; however, after the surgery, I will be in constant contact with Lt. Governor Tina Smith and my Senior Staff throughout my time at Mayo. 

Many friends and strangers have shared with me their experiences dealing with prostate cancer. You have lifted my spirits and given me both hope and resolve. I am deeply grateful to you."

Dayton announced he had prostate cancer the day after he collapsed at his State of the State speech. Although he said that the cancer diagnosis had nothing to do with his collapsing. The collapsing was attributed to dehydration and standing too long.
