Good Showing For One Minnesota Republican Candidate For Governor

Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Minnesota’s two major political parties jumpstarted the 2022 election year season Tuesday by holding their traditional precinct caucuses.
The Democratic party decided to conduct most of its meetings under a remote format but the Republicans held in-person gatherings.
With more than 90-percent of the results of a GOP preference poll for the governor's race reported late Tuesday night, former state Sen. Scott Jensen had a big lead over the other hopefuls.
Both major parties will endorse their candidates for governor and other races during their back-to-back state conventions in Rochester in May. The Republican event will be held May 13 and 14th and the Democratic convention will be held May 20-22.
