First Ever ‘Cold Weather Advisory’ Issued for Southern Minnesota
Not that it's never been this cold before, but Cold Weather Advisories have replaced Wind Chill Warnings this winter by the National Weather Service.
The Cold Weather Advisory is in effect from 9:00 pm Saturday night through noon on Tuesday for the entire southern half of Minnesota; where very cold wind chills as low as 35 below are expected.
An Extreme Cold Warning has been issued for the northern parts of the state, where wind chills could drop as low as 45 below.

Dress in layers including a hat, face mask, and gloves if you must go outside. Keep pets indoors as much as possible.
The dangerously cold wind chills could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 5 to 10 minutes. Very cold temperatures can lead to hypothermia with prolonged exposure.
