Faribault Falcons junior Olivia Williamson stopped by KFC in Faribault for our weekly coaches show last Saturday and said she "loves" hockey.  It shows.  After 12 games Williamson has 20 goals and is tied with Prairie Centre senior Kylee Hopp for tops in the state.  Williamson is also second in points with 32.  She trails junior Mackenzie Bourgerie (38 points) of North Wright County who has already committed to playing for St. Cloud State.

Williamson has been getting some looks from a number of schools and told us she has not decided where she wants to go to college yet.  The Falcon junior is leaning toward staying closer to home saying currently the University of Minnesota Duluth would probably be her top choice.  Williamson said she is thinking about pursuing a career in the medical field.  She is also a very good soccer goalie and I asked her if junior goalie Mikayla Bohner couldn't go due to illness or injury if she would go between the pipes.  Senior Ellie Knutson joined Williamson at KFC. The third baseman from the State Champion Falcons softball team last spring hopes Bohner doesn't miss any games because she would be the one to put the pads on and go in net.

Knutson played some goalie in her youth and said she was "horrible at it."  I find that hard to believe because she is a natural athlete.  Knutson has been the fastest member of the softball team and showed an impressive vertical when hammering home some kills during the volleyball season.  Williamson also marvels at the speed Knutson generates on the ice.  Ellie is going to the University of Wisconsin in Eau Claire next year and hasn't decided if she will play softball for the Blugolds.  She's leaning toward being a student and wants to be an elementary teacher.

Speaking of Bohner.  Mikayla is fourth in the state in wins with 9, fifteenth in goals against average at 1.67 and is 24th in save percentage .924.

Checking the Big Nine statistics, Bohner ranks tops in goals against average for goalies with over 100 minutes logged on the ice.  Rochester Mayo goalie Makayla Pahl leads in save percentage (.933) with a 3.01 goals against average and one shutout.  Bohner has 3 shutouts.  Northfield goalie Rachel Bielenberg leads the league with 4 shutouts to her credit.  Bielenberg's goals against average is 2.07 and save percentage is .904.

Some more impressive number for Williamson coming off a 4 goal game against Mankato East her last contest.  She has scored 4 goals twice, a hat trick once, two goals twice and has only been held scoreless in two games this season.  Williamson has 1 power play goal and 4 shorthanded goals so far this season with two game winning goals.

Williamson obviously leads the Big Nine in scoring, goals and total points with 12 games played.  Kate Boland of Northfield is second with 12 goals and 27 points in 10 games.  Boland has 1 power play goal.  Jessica Boland of Northfield is 4th in the Big Nine with 22 points (12 goals, 10 assists).

Faribault junior Haley Lang is 6th in the Big Nine with 20 points (10 goals, 10 assists) with 1 power play and 3 shorthanded goals.

Lizzy Morsching of Northfield is 7th in the Big nine with 18 points (9 goals, 9 assists) and 4 power play goals, 1 shorthanded.  Falcon senior Kayli Burkhartzmeyer is 11th in the conference with 15 points (10 goals, 5 assists) 3 power play goals. She is tied with teammate Kylie Starkson (7 goals, 8 assists).

Falcon Abigail Goodwin is also in the top fifteen in the conference in points with 14 points.  Goodwin has 5 goals and 9 assists.

The Raiders Mya Wesling is tied with Goodwin with 14 points (5 goals, 9 assists) 1 power play goal.
