Faribault Park and Rec Has a Program For Future Rockers

I have always loved music as far back as I can remember. I was continuously surrounded by people who enjoyed listening or playing music. Whether it was my grandma playing Roger Miller or Ray Stevens on the phonograph, my mom blasting her "K-Tel Presents" hits albums on our stereo or my cousin pounding the skins in the garage with his band (they lived right next door), I have been immersed in the world of music all my life. Music class in school was one of my favorites to go to. I loved singing along with Mrs. Johnson at Lincoln Elementary School as she played the piano or the autoharp. Mind you I wasn't a very good singer but I didn't care, I just loved how fun it was to be a part of the music.

That's why I wanted to share with you the Tuneful Tots Program being hosted by the Faribault Park and Rec starting this Saturday, January 14. This five-week program increases cognitive learning through active musical participation by singing, playing instruments and dancing. This class is specifically for children ages 1-4 and will be at the Washington Rec Center every Saturday from January 14 through February 11 with two class times to choose from, either 9-9:45AM or 10-10:45AM.
