This morning at 9:30am a Faribault High School student was 'apprehended' by local law enforcement after making a threat. The threat that was made was sent to two other students in a text according to Superintendent Todd Sesker in a voicemail to parents.

The threat that was made via text message to two other students indicated that the individual was "thinking about shooting the school up".

A search was conducted after the student was brought to the office immediately after the threat was reported to school administration, and then placed in police custody. A subsequent search did not turn up any weapons.

In the message sent to parents and guardians, Superintendent Sesker was thankful that the students acted "responsibly and reported the threat." Sesker went on to state that the "safety of students remains a top priority of the school district and that the school district takes all threats seriously."

Faribault High School was not put into lockdown, and classes continued on as scheduled.
