The Faribault Falcons boys basketball team had just one player with double digit points Friday night in a 60-43 win over the Albert Lea Tigers in Nomeland Gym.  Junior Abdi Abullahi had 19 points including a breakaway two handed dunk to lead the Falcons offense.  Four other Falcon were close to double digits.  Senior Andy Prange and junior Maverick Jeanes had 9 points each and senior Joe Palmer and sophomore Nick Ehlers had 8 points each.

Albert Lea paid a lot of attention to Palmer, Faribault's leading scorer and he did not force the issue but helped teammates get open shots.  The Falcons enjoyed a 27-14 halftime lead holding the Tigers to 5 field goals in the first half.  Albert Lea committed 11 first half turnovers.  Faribault scored 12 points off those turnovers.  The Falcons finished the game with 13 turnovers.

Albert Lea was 11 of 15 from the free throw line and Faribault 9 of 15.  The Tigers were led by a couple of juniors.  6'0 Javarus Mucha-Owens had 16 points and 6'5 Chay Guen added 13 points including a highlight reel one handed flush on a fast break.

Faribault is now 5-6 in the Big 9, 6-9 overall.  Albert Lea is still searching for their first conference win.  The Tigers have a 0-12 Big 9 mark and are 1-13 overall.
