The Faribault Falcons boys tennis team fell 4-3 in a match at Farmington Monday night.  Head Coach Jeff Anderson told KDHL he was proud of his team for playing very well against the tough South Suburban Conference competition.

The Falcons split the singles portion of the match with Jon Caron capturing his No. 1 singles match 6-4, 6-6, 7-4 against Tyler Samion of Farmington. In No. 2 singles Spencer Mayleben of Farmington defeated Sang Le of the Falcons 6-3, 6-1.  Luke Leppert of Faribault was a victor at No. 3 singles 6-1, 4-6, 6-1 over Grant Gruver.  Erik Hall of Farmington bested Harrison Gibbs 6-2, 6-3 at No. 4 singles.

In doubles competition Carter Remillard and Ryan Kline played No. 1 doubles for Faribault and downed Zach Hoffman and Michael Smits 7-5, 4-6, 6-2.  The Tigers had wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles with Kaden Schnider and Wesley Speakman defeating Falcons Carson Reuvers and Alex Castillo 6-2, 6-2 and Bailey Carey and Connor Watson prevailing over Steven Rubacalva and Abdirashid Abdi 6-0, 6-1.

The Falcons are 0-2 with those matches played a week apart so it's been difficult for them to get into any kind of rhythm.

Faribault has their first conference match of the season Tuesday when they travel to Rochester John Marshall for a 4:30 p.m. match.
