Barry ZeVan was a well-known weatherman across Minnesota and the US too! In Minnesota, he did the weather at KSTP and KARE 11 in the '70s and '80s. Barry's granddaughter, Maritsa Georgiuo, said people loved Barry for his "'infectious, vivacious spirit'" Unfortunately, Barry ZeVan, aka the Peek-a-Boo weatherman, passed away on January 1st, 2020.

Barry's work took him around the US. Bring Me the News writes that Barry first worked in radio in Pittsburgh. He then began his "iconic TV career in Montana in 1957. He found himself at KSTP-TV in the Twin Cities in 1974, then left for jobs in Washington, D.C. and Detroit before returning to work at Channel 11 (KARE)."

He retired in 1987 but returned to weather reporting with his "Retro Weather" reports on YouTube. The YouTube channel was the idea of comedian Louie Anderson and started up just this last year. Louie and his dad were big fans of Barry so Louie helped put together this YouTube channel.

No cause of death has been released. However, the Star Tribune reported that in June of 2019 Barry was in remission from chronic lymphocytic leukemia.

This is Barry's last "Retro Weather" report which is from the day after Christmas:
