Faribault Falcon Wrestling Section Seeding Set

The Faribault Falcons are the 11th seed out of 13 teams in the Section 1AA Wrestling Tournament, which begins this Thursday. Faribault (14-8) travels to Stewartville and wrestles sixth-seed Caledonia (14-10) at 6 p.m. The winner will tangle with state-ranked Stewartville after their match. The Tigers are ranked 11th in Class AA.

This section is definitely loaded, with second-ranked Kasson-Mantorville the top seed and third-ranked Albert Lea with a 30-1 record garnering the second seed. The Waterville-Elysian-Morristown Buccaneers are the eighth seed and face Lewiston-Altura at K-MHS on Thursday, with the winner challenging K-M. Cannon Falls is the 12th seed and travels to Plainview to face Grand Meadow.

The semis and finals are in Rochester on Saturday at 12:45 and 2:30 p.m. Pictured below is Ryan Mullennex, Faribault's only state-ranked wrestler. The junior is ranked seventh at 138 pounds in Class AA. Mullennex recently recorded his 100th career win. KDHL will be broadcasting the match.
