Faribault resident Troy Murphy's lung cancer was first diagnosed in 2008. After successful surgery and long recovery, Murphy was told in 2012 that his cancer had returned. He again underwent extensive treatment and thought he had beaten cancer again. In February, a scan found new tumors in Murphy's lungs.
On Saturday, April 30, the Austin Eagles Club will host a benefit to help the Murphy family with their rising expenses. A meal will be offered from 4-8PM and activities including a silent auction, raffle and bean-bag tournament will be available from 4-9PM during this family friendly event.
