The Rice County Historical Society is hosting an evening out at the Faribault American Legion on Friday, June 10. The night includes dinner, a silent auction and entertainment by the Over and Back Band. The social hour begins at 5PM, dinner is at 6PM and the band begins at 7PM.
The silent auction will include merchandise and services from area businesses, and a raffle. All proceeds support the Rice County Historical Society's programs and activities.
The Over and Back Band formed in 1991 when the Over and Back variety benefit show needed a house band. The Over and Back show lasted nearly 15 years, and the band has been performing for almost 25 years. Craig Wasner, Steve Jennings, Mike Hildebrandt and Gordon Oschwald blend their musical interests to create the band. Their sound has been desicribed as "electrified gypsy bluegrass meets funky New Orleans rock and roll," according to a press release. Guitarist and pedal steel player Ken Wilson joins the band for this event.
Tickets are $25. A limited number of $100 raffle tickets are available. Raffle prizes are two dinner/event tickets, a 1 in 5 chance of winning your $100 back, and a 1 in 100 chance of winning the grand prize of $1,500.
