Near critical fire weather conditions are in the forecast for southeastern Minnesota this afternoon, with a Red Flag Warning issued for central and southwest parts of the state.

A dry cold front will track eastward across Minnesota this afternoon. Much drier air behind the front will lead to critical fire weather conditions. After the front passes, northwest winds will gust as high as 30 mph while relative humidity values fall to as low as 15 to 20 percent.

Red Flag conditions will develop across western and central Minnesota this afternoon behind a cold front. Ahead of the cold front in southeast Minnesota expect elevated fire weather conditions.
