The old saying "If it's too good to be true, it probably is" comes to mind, but I also feel this deserves it's own category because of the message it's sending.

There's reports of a coupon featuring ex-NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick making it's rounds that offers discounted Nike products to people of color. In one variation, the barcoded coupon claims, “To show solidarity with the things WE believe in we are offering people of color 75% off any purchase of Nike’s shoes or apparel.”

According to USA Today, they even tried one of these supposed "coupons" at a store in Washington DC and it came up as invalid. Snopes, however, says one featured a QR code reveals the message, “This is a ROBBERY, Move slowly and put all the LARGE bills in the shoe box OR everyone DIES,” when scanned.

All this comes a few weeks after Nike unveiled their 30th anniversary of the "Just Do It" slogan, where Kaepernick is featured front and center of the controversial campaign.

If you see any of these bogus coupons, please disregard and throw them away.
