David Mark Vague, age 57, of Kilkenny, MN, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 5, 2024.

David Mark was born on March 1, 1967, in Scarbrough, Ontario, Canada, the son of Robert Maxwell and Anne (Bennett) Vague. David's family moved to Michigan when he was 1 1/2 and then moved to Oceanside, CA, when he was 7.

He graduated from Victory Christian High School in 1985. David had a passion for cars and at an early age began repairing cars for a local businessman; in fact, he restored his favorite model of car, a 1970 Chevelle SS to pristine condition and later in his car passions began installing competition car stereos at Digital Auto Sound in Oceanside. David proposed to Catherine after meeting her while she was on vacation in California, after one week he knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her.

David was married to Catherine Peterson on May 18, 1996, in Fergus Falls, MN, and just celebrated 28 years of this epic love story this past year. David was blessed to have 4 children (Justin, Joshua, Ashley and Alyssa) that he loved and adored.  David started his work with Walmart in 2001 in Fergus Falls.

In 2012, he moved to Faribault and continued his work with Walmart as a department manager.  He found the perfect property near Kilkenny that fit his interests including camping, ATV riding, fixing cars, gardening, and hanging out with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Catherine Vague of Kilkenny; children, Joshua David Vague of Kilkenny, Justin Spence Vague of Kilkenny, Ashley Catherine Victoria Vague of Hampton, VA, and Alyssa Anne Vague of Richmond, VA; grandchildren, Catherine Noel Wilson, Jennalynn Rose Wilson, and Lillian Kay Wilson; parents, Max and Anne Vague of Oceanside, CA; sister, Andrea Vogue-Parn (Arthur); brother, Glen Vague (April); and nieces and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; and his parents-in-law, Ron and Carol Peterson.

A celebration of David’s life will be held at a later date.
