Tonight at the Owatonna Eagles Club expect to see some sweet rides. On top of some cherry rides, there will be a People's Choice Award and you can also grab a bite to eat.

According to the Owatonna Eagles Facebook page, this is the 3rd Cruise-In being held by the Eagles. It would have been 4 but the weather canceled a previous event in July.

A post on the Owatonna Eagles Facebook page yesterday invites the public out to enjoy the weather and cars.

The event starts at 5.

"Gates open at 5 pm and voting for the People's Choice Trophy will start at 7 pm. Bring a car to share or simply stop by and enjoy a grilled burger, cheese burger, brat, or hot dog. Let us make you supper while you walk around and enjoy the cars, company, music, and find out who will be this week's winner of the People's Choice Award!!!

Looking forward to another wonderful evening with our friends!!! Hope to see you there!!" - Owatonna Eagles

In addition to the cars and camaraderie, the sales of food at the cruise-in are going to a good cause. The Eagles, according to a recent post, "will be raising money for the battle against cancer tonight and all Summer long!! The proceeds from the outdoor grill food and beverage sales will be going to the Eagles 5th District Cancer Telethon!!"

The weather looks like it will be great too, with no rain in the forecast. Attendees are being asked to following social distancing practices. The Eagles Club is located at 141 E. Rose Street Owatonna, Minnesota 55060.

I recently strolled through Montgomery's Cruise-In Monday night, and that's where I got the photo of the 1973 [?] Chevrolet K5 Blazer CST. It even had a matching cooler in the back, that I am sure was filled with Pepsi...I have an affinity for the 70s era K5 Blazers as my dad had a 1970 K5 in a sparkle teal/blue, with the spare tire behind the driver's seat, while I was growing up, it was really fun to ride in and drive.
