Cassadee Pope's beautifully high pitched voice has made her stand out among female country music singers, but in an interview with Taste of Country, she reveals her trademark wasn't always a positive asset.

"A few girls would be catty and say that my voice sounded really high, and I sang like a chipmunk, I got a few prank calls about that a few times," Pope shares. "But it didn't really bother me that much. I think I was so focused on music that nothing could break me or get in my way."

This testament is the main theme of the last track on her newly-released Summer EP, titled "Alien." The powerful song is all about celebrating everyone's differences and being proud to be unique.

"I'm a blackbird flyin' in a white fence town / Got a church pew heart and a rock 'n roll mouth / I'm a straight 'A' kid with a fake ID / Little somewhere in between," Pope sings on the track.

The 26-year-old embraces what separates her from the crowd, including her freckles. As seen in the video above, Pope isn't shy about looking all natural; she flaunts her fresh face and standout freckles all over her Instagram account, and she looks absolutely stunning doing so.

"I have never wanted to hide my freckles," Pope admits. "I just didn't like the way I looked without them, it didn't look like me."

Pope will spend her summer on the road promoting her new EP, playing a variety of fair and festival dates, in addition to the second leg of the I'm Comin' Over Tour with Chris Young.
