Friday, April 20th is Caitlyn Smith Day in Cannon Falls as proclaimed by Mayor Robby Robinson before this week's Cannon Falls City Council meeting.  Smith is a Cannon Falls native and will be performing Friday night at the Cannon Falls Auditorium.  The sell out concert proceeds will benefit the Cannon Falls Senior Center formerly the Shepherd Center of the Cannon Valley.

Smith's performances have received very positive reviews.  Her songwriting abilities have already been widely recognized in Nashville with many stars recording her songs with some success.  Here are a few samples;

  • "Like I'm Gonna Lose You" recorded by Meghan Trainor, duet with John Legend
  • "You Can't Make Old Friends". Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers
  • "Tacoma", Garth Brooks
  • "747", Lady Antebellum
  • "Wasting All These Tears", Cassadee Pope
  • "Let It Hurt", Rascal Flatts

Mayor Robinson is scheduled to join KDHL during the 7:05 a.m. news and tell us what it takes to have a day named in your honor in Cannon Falls.

We are also hoping to have Caitlyn Smith joins us live during the Midday Report on KDHL between Noon and 12:30 p.m.
