Faribault Fire Chief Dusty Dienst says Faribault firefighters were joined by the Rice County Sheriff's Department, Morristown Fire Department and North Memorial Ambulance in responding to a structure fire at 17850 Roberds Lake Boulevard in rural Rice County last night.  The call was received 7:36 p.m..  The seasonal cabin was a complete loss.

Chief Dienst told KDHL listeners during our 8:05 a.m. report today the owner had just completed repairs after the structure was damaged from a tree landing on it during one of the September 20th tornadoes that hit the area.  It had been winterized for the season and was not occupied.

Chief Dienst commented, "We are grateful that no one was hurt by this fire and that it is not the principal home of the owner.  This is a bit of salt in the wound as they had just repaired the structure from the September storms."

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.  The State Fire Marshall's Office has been contacted to assist the Faribault Fire Department with the investigation.
