You can own a piece of Northfield history. The Northfield Historical Society is offering up a way to help preserve the Scriver Building while offering up a piece of history in return. Buy either a whole or half brick and the proceeds will benefit the preservation of the Scriver Building, according to a post from the Northfield Historical Society.

Archer House Brick Sale - April 30, 9 to 4pm at the Northfield Historical Society. **Proceeds from the sale will aid in preservation efforts for the Scriver Building.**
$10/ half brick. $20/ full brick. $50/ 3 bricks. $100/ 7 bricks. All prices include tax. NHS will not hold or reserve bricks. Unsold bricks will be available in the museum store after the sale on the 30th.
The brick sale will take place on April 30th from 9am to 4pm at the Northfield Historical Society. The prices are modest when you think about the history you'll be taking home, and what you will in return be helping to preserve. The cost of a whole brick is $20, while a half-brick is $10.
The Scriver Building, for those unfamiliar with Northfield, held the First National Bank, the site of the failed Jesse James Gang robbery on September 7th, 1876. The building has since been revitalized and now houses the Northfield Historical Society.
The Archer House sadly was unrepairable or salvageable after a fire devoured and damaged a large amount of the historical downtown building Thursday, November 12, 2020. The cause of the fire was ruled to be accidental after the improper use of an industrial smoker started the blaze in the Northeast area of the building. The subsequent damage deemed the landmark a total loss, and the building was torn down.
Keep the legacy of the Archer House alive in your home or private collection through the purchase of a brick.
