Blooming Prairie sophomore Kollyn Alwes closed out his golf season at the state golf tournament with a middle-of-the-pack finish on Wednesday. Alwes shot a 95 in windy conditions at Pebble Creek in Becker after his opening-round 83 on Tuesday for a 178 total. He tied for 49th place in the 88 player field. Brett Reid of team champion Community Christian shot 72-73 for a 145 total and a four-stroke victory.

Bethlehem Academy senior Khrystjan Petersen placed 18th with rounds of 78 and 88 for a 166 total, his third straight top 20 finish. The Cardinals finished seventh in the team standings. BA edged Blooming Prairie in the Section 1A final standings. BP does not lose any seniors off this season's team. Alwes, who made his individual debut at state this week, was a player on the Awesome Blossoms state-meet team two years ago.

In the girls' Class A competition, BOLD won the title by one stroke (704-705) over Park Christian.

Red Wing had both individual champions and won the girls' team title in the Class AA tournament at Sand Creek in Jordan. The Winger girls won the team championship by one stroke (646-647) over Minnewashka Area/Belgrade-Brooten-Elrosa. Red Wing's Sophia Yoemans won medalist honors with 138. Her teammate Leah Herzog tood silver with 145. Their classmate Cecil Belisle won the boys' title by two shots with a 143. Holy Family captured the boys' team title.

The Class AAA event was held at Bunker Hills in Coon Rapids this week. Chanhassen won the girls' title over Edina 627-640. Section 1 representative Lakeville North finished sixth. The boys' title went to Edina over Waconia (595-597). Lakeville South finished sixth.
