KDHL Radio had a Hockey Day Minnesota Big Nine Conference girls hockey broadcast in Rochester Saturday that was a great game,

The Owatonna Huskies had a 2-0 lead after the first period against Century/John Marshall , but the game was tied at 3 going into the third period.

With 1:44 to go in the contest C/JM got a power play game winning goal on their senior day at the Recreation Center.

The goal was scored by Quinn Stewart, junior, her 9th of the season.  Assists were awarded to Kenzie Harding, freshman. (3rd) and Olivia Gagnon, junior, (5th).

The Huskies started the scoring 7:53 into the first period with a Kaylee Butler, senior, unassisted goal (7th),

Owatonna added another even strength goal by Alexis Noble, sophomore, (16th) at the 12:25 mark.

Century/JM tallied 7 shots on goal, the Huskies had 9.

I don't know what Century/JM Head Coach Rachel Leger told her team during the first intermission, but they came out with added energy to score three unanswered goals/

3:28 Kennedy Stewart, sophomore, (14th) assisted by Kenzie Harding, (2) and Quinn Stewart (10th).

Just 14 seconds later Izzy Bazzel, senior, (8th), assisted by Kennedy Stewart, sophomore, (20) tied the game.

At 6:08 Kennedy Stewart scored again (15th).

With 1:58 to go in the period Owatonna tied the game on a Grace Mitchell, junior, power play goal (13).

The Huskies outshot C/JM 13-6 in the second period.

The Century/JM team made the most of their shots in the third period with two shots compared to Owatonna's 11.

C/JM goalie Isabella Scranton, senior, made some incredible scramble saves to secure the win.

Total shots were Huskies 33, Century/JM 15.

Owatonna fell to 6-6 in the Big Nine, 11-12 overall while Century/JM improved to 6-8-1 in conference play and 10-12-2 overall.

Northfield remained undefeated following a 7-1 victory over Rochester Mayo in Graham Arena Saturday.

The Raiders dominated the contest.  Shooting 62 shots on goal and limiting the Spartans to 8 shots on goal.

Mia Miller, senior, was welcomed back from playing with an all-star team in Novia Scotia to record 4 goals.

Lindsey Erickson,senior, added the other three goals.  Emma Peroutka, junior, had three assists and so did Reese Peroutka, sophomore.

Mayo started the scoring 5:34 into the game on a Olivia Dahl, junior, unassisted goal.

Despite nine total penalties in the game, there were no power play goals.
